About the Journal
1. Introduction
The Brazilian Journal of Health and Clinical Approaches is a scientific journal focused on the health field, encompassing areas such as biomedicine, physical education, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, medicine, nutrition, and dentistry. The journal is dedicated to disseminating scientific knowledge through the publication of articles of great relevance to the scientific community, in addition to fostering collaboration between researchers and health professionals.
The publication adopts a broad and varied perspective, encouraging authors from various backgrounds and institutions to present their research. Papers undergo a methodical peer review process, conducted by reviewers with expertise in the subject, to ensure excellence, accuracy, and credibility of the conclusions.
The Brazilian Journal of Health and Clinical Approaches is a biannual journal that adopts a continuous flow model for article submissions. The biannual issues (January to June and July to December) are available electronically, with free access and non-profit objectives, which increases the visibility and impact of research. These contents can be accessed on the official website of the Brazilian Journal of Health and Clinical Approaches.
2. Peer Review
The editorial/advisory committee will accept scientific articles, literature reviews, case reports, short communications, and other texts that align with the Journal’s dissemination objectives for evaluation. The content will be sent to consultants and reviewers, who will deliberate on the feasibility of publication, whether in whole or in part, and will provide the author with recommendations and any corrections.
Articles approved at this stage will undergo the plagiarism checker (Plagius). If a high rate of similarity is identified, the article will be rejected. The Editors will analyze the report provided by the software to make the final decision.
Once this stage is approved, the texts will be sent to ad hoc reviewers previously selected by the Editors. Each document will be evaluated by two renowned experts with expertise in the field in question. If there is a discrepancy between the evaluations, a third expert will be invited to participate in the review. The average time to complete the entire review process is 60 days, although it may exceed this period due to the number of requests received.
The peer review process adheres to a confidentiality policy regarding the identities of authors and reviewers. Authors’ identities are deliberately concealed to avoid any interference with the analysis of the work. Similarly, authors, while informed about the method used, are unaware of who is responsible for evaluating their work.
Reviewer reports offer three options:
a) full acceptance;
b) acceptance with changes;
c) full rejection. In all of these situations, the author will be notified.
The final decision on whether or not to publish the work rests with the editors, who reserve the right to make any necessary grammatical and formatting adjustments.
If writing problems are identified, the manuscript will be returned to the authors for necessary corrections; the revised work must be submitted by the stipulated deadline. Failure to meet these deadlines may result in rejection of the article.

This publication provides immediate open access to its content, adhering to the principle that offering scientific knowledge free of charge to the public promotes greater global democratization of knowledge.
